  • Was at the concert at the Palace the other night (11/25). It was my first Marty concert. It was amazing when the two of you sang with your dad. "Step Outside" was my favorite song of the night. I'll never forget it. -- Posted by Michael, 27 November 2005

  • Do you enjoy going on motorcycle rides? :D -- Posted 12 December 2005

I enjoyed them tremendously in college with a certain special someone who taught me to hold on tight and balance in a whole new way...

  • I might sound incredibly naive and stupid, but are you related to Martin Sexton? -- Posted by tf, 21 April 2004

Your question is not naive or stupid. Indeed, Colleen is younger sister to Martin.

  • So, I'm walking through my local Borders in Charlotte, NC minding my own business when suddenly - insert dramatic gasp icon here - I see a familure face poking out of the Folk Section.
Thinking I was seeing things...It was approaching my bedtime after all...I ran back and realized that, yes, it was indeed Colleen Sexton from BL High School and her CD Greatest Find!
Probably the most amusing thing about this story is you know how Syracuse Irish Catholics like to talk when were excited? A million miles an hour with our voices cracking? That's what I did in the middle of the store.
I told everyone within earshot that I went to High School with you. I told them how nice you are and sweet and talented and smart and all that stuff...Anyway...I got this one lady all pumped up about you and she said "I think I'll buy this" I said "Thank You" and I handed it to her. As she walked away, I realized it was the only copy left in the store...and I didn't buy it...duh!
I was laughing to myself about what a bonehead I was for not checking the inventory before dazzling the shoppers with my salesmanship. I stopped her as she was heading for the checkout and begged for the disc back...she laughed (at me most likely) and handed it over.
Colleen, I hope you are doing well. I'm very proud of you! I got through the first half of the disc on my way home and you sound great!
PS...Borders books @ Stonecrest in Charlotte NC is out of your CD...figured you'd like to know ;^)-- Posted by Jim, 15 January 2004

Readers should know that Jim plays a bad old bass guitar himself! -- Colleen

  • I like Shine! Can you Shine when you are in nyc? :) -- Posted by E.E., 29 October 2003

  • I wanted to say a belated "congrats" on the Greatest Find CD. It's terrific! The production is gorgeous, with arrangements which leave lots of space for your players to shine. It's neat to hear, particularly, the very different arrangement of "Dear Arlene." Other favorites are "School Days," (great writing) and the tracks with Janis Ian harmonies. -- Posted by P.H., 28 October 2003

  • Was at Happy Endings Coffee House in Syracuse. Sat next to your cousin, Michael. Nice to know talent runs in the family as we see Marty every chance we get. Came back from Syracuse to the North Carolina Mountains and will pass on your album to our local radio station, WNCW 88.7. My wife and I are gonna try and learn School Days tune, Loved it! Try to see you the next time we are north. Thanks for the great show! -- Posted by C.K., 28 September 2002

  • Got my new CD today in the mail. Have listened to first 4 songs and loved them. Will see Colleen at the Point on 9/20. Can't wait to listen to the rest of the CD. -- Posted by D.H., 30 June 2003
